Luxurious Chrocodile Leather Desks for Elegant Business

We found an interesting luxurious writing desk collection for all of you out there doing business in an elegant fashion. This means playing by the rules of Ethics but also by the ones of design. The fancy set comes from Sabino Aprile and features unique approaches to the common desk. The materials are very originally combined and carefully hand crafted. Polish stainless steel, wood and crocodile leather were used in order to complete the products. Ergonomics was a main factor of the design. Everything was developed with functionality in mind. How do you like these writing desks? Do you think they are only suited for high-class offices or do they work in a more unofficial environment as well?-via Bornrich

Land Peel, a Fun Multifunctional Mat

Designed by Shin Yamashita, a student at the Kyoto Institute of Technology, project “Land Peel” is a creative, fun and multifunctional furniture unit. At the first glance it looks like a common floor mat. But a closer look will reveal that the product is made up by panels which can be lifted in order to create various furniture objects. Land Peel can turn into a comfortable seating item, a table or a writing desk just by doing a few simple moves. When it is not used, it can simply be packed up and stored in a locker somewhere. We think this would be a really useful thing to have around, especially for students who lead a nomadic lifestyle- this way moving could turn into a very easy process.-via HomeQn

Furniture with Skeletons and Bones, For the Strong Spirits R

This original furniture collection was displayed at the Carpenters Workshop Gallery in London and belongs to Studio Job. We don’t know how many of you out there would go for this type of imprints, but we find the idea to be quite interesting which is why we decided to share it. Called “Industry series”, the designs are made of Indian rosewood and feature animals, insects, birds, guns and various industrial objects, all integrated in a overall dark theme. Bones and skeletons are the recurrent graphics. It may be just a subjective opinion with no grounds, but I do not find these furniture items to be all that scary or shocking. Still, it takes a strong personality to own a table or a locker of this sort. What do you think?-via Designpumpa.

Cafe Chair by Kamilla Lang

Here on Freshome we love innovative & unusual things, and Kamilla Lang’s ‘Cafe’ chair is a really good example. Reminiscent of a classic chair/desk combination’s often found in high schools, Kamilla Lang’s ‘Cafe’ chair is a highly modern interpretation, elegantly envisioned and executed. The chair seamlessly blends form with function, with a single piece of curved wood serving as leg, back, and an armrest that serves as a surface for small items. Despite its modernism, Lang’s ‘Cafe’ chair invokes beautiful designs of decades past. From the pictures I can say that this piece is just a concept right now, but a concept that I would really want to see it live. – Via – DT

Unusual Wahbasin Shape from Ekateryna Sokolova

Ekateryna Sokolova is a young designer from Kiev, Ukraine, with works in the field of furniture and industrial design. Today we would like to present an unusual washbasin, a project called “Iris”, due to its shape correspondence with the elegant flower. Here is what Ekateryna stated about this design: “The idea is that the wash-basin is manufactured from sheet material, corian or metal. Thanks to these materials the basin becomes visually light weight and elegant and resembles a flower, at the same time retaining its strength. The sheet is bent in such manner that a functional shelf is created, where towels, accessories, and cosmetics are kept.” It would sure be interesting to have one of these around the house- perhaps in an environment with similar shaped elements- in order to create a light atmosphere. -via 3rings

Dramatic, Opulent and Original Bathtubs From Lineatre

The classic bathroom interior commonly features a simple arrangement, with the main products placed according to how the pipes in that building are settled. Today we would like to show you a selection of original bathtubs who do more than not respecting the rules. Their design-created by the people at Lineatre is fascinating and unusual. Diversity is another noun that could very well characterize these classic interiors. Decorative elements such as pendant lamps, rugs, wall lamps and wall hangers bring a plus of innovation to these rooms. Floral embellishments come to complete the luxurious feel and so do the silver leaf finishes. We particularly enjoy the curtains that surround the upholstered bathtubs which go great with the drapes on the window.
